You know, I swear my backpack was lighter when I left Canada. I don't know how it gotten heavier since I've only been buying postcards. I'm currently having a hard time carrying my backpack around. I should have brought my wheely luggage. I might have to repack.
Anyways, I left Bath early in the morning, a little after 8:00. I slowly made my way to the train station and then to Oxford. It took two trains to get to Oxford. I transferred at Didcot Parkway. When I got to Oxford station, I had to find a place to store my luggage since Oxford station didn't have lockers or storage. I had to walk down a couple of blocks to store my bag at Backpackers for £4. After I waited for the S#3 to take me to Woodstock (a tiny village besides Blenheim Palace). The bus fare including return was £5.20 and comes every 30 minutes.
When I made it to Blenheim Palace, the admission jumped to £20 that includes the palace and garden admission. I only gave myself 3 hours to see Blemheim Palace, and I only saw half the palace and half the gardens. Blemheim Palace is where the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough currently lives and where Sir Winston Churchill was born. Of the gardens, I only saw the Duke's garden.
At 14:00, I had to catch the bus to get my trains to Stratford Upon Avon. The bus was on time. However, as it turns out, one of the trains were a little more that 40 minutes late. I had to ask information to see what would get me to Stratford Upon Avon the fastest since I said I would be checking in at 17:30. I ended up being one hour late after three trains, two transfers. I think I caught three different company trains (and on one them it had free wifi so I could email the b&b of my lateness). It's a good thing the ticket costs all the same and my ticket had no restrictions.
When I finally arrived at Stratford Upon Avon, it was late, and it looked like I wouldn't have time to see Shakespeare's The Tempest. The host was really nice showing me all the stuff on the map and where I can get food. A lot of places closes early, only pubs and restaurants are opened late. I wanted to go find soup since I had been raining and a little chilly of a few hours. I found a Asian noodle house take served pho. When I ordered it, they said they didn't have any. What was weird was i think the place shared the kitchen next door. The restaurant next door was a Moroccan place. I ended up ordering beef ho fun which is nothing what we have at home.
Anyways, after I headed back here to unwind and take a hot shower. So, my room is on the main floor, but the toilet and bath is on the second floor which I have to share the bathroom with another single person. I hope I didn't leave the bathroom to messy for her...
Tomorrow's agenda: Touring Stratford Upon Avon especially taking in all the Shakespeare's sites.
